I don’t fully agree with that. We even kept on estimating with story points when we moved to Kanban.

Estimating the stories help to know if the team is all with the same idea of what is to be done in a given story. If one team member votes 1 and another votes 8, they clearly don’t have the same view of what needs to be done.
